Lived with a guy you didn't love?

Have any of you ever moved in with a guy you didn't love but were with him because he was the best you could find?

A female friend of mine recently moved in with a boyfriend she has been off and on with for over 5 years. She got drunk one night and told me she keeps going back because he was the best she could find but he is "Too nice" and that she had gotten bored with him before but he begged and begged till she came back. She tells me in the off times they have both dated other people but she has never found better.

    Is this normal?

Every relationship I've been in we were crazy about each other with pure unadulterated passion for one another until something happened and we split.

Arranged marriage? I know gals who had this. They are often quite successful.

I found that in most case, people in an adult relationship end up with a partner they deserve
    Don't cry, don't regret and don't blame
Weak find the whip, willing find freedom
Towards the sun, carry your name
In warm hands you are given
Ask the wind for the way
Uncertainty's gone, your path will unravel
Accept all as it is and do not blame

I haven't but I know people who have a relation like that.

To me it looks very frustrating.

Today they're all happy and stuff, tomorrow she kicks him out and he's sleeping over with friends, till she takes him in again.

I'd boot her if that would be me, and I have told him several times to do so, to no avail.

I guess some people are just in it for the misery.

EDIT: haha... I didn't notice this was ask a female...

Lots of people are bored after 5 years.

Why do you care what's going on with HER relationship?

Because I got a thing for her. Why else?

Oh, haha! Well, she seems to get something out of being with a nice guy... if you are just another nice guy, I don't see why she'd want to trade him in, you know?

Lets say I am a very generous, compassionate, asshole. Maybe it does it for her?

Does the "She has never found better" comment extend to you as well?

No idea. She tells me she has been talking to a guy online and its only causing problems in her current relationship. She doesn't keep anything from her current BF. Because I'm egotistical and talk to her a lot online I'll assume she means me.

She only refers to this guy as "the guy" and when i poked around and asked what he did for a living she named the job I have. Coincidence?
She tells me she met "the guy" a couple months ago just before she moved in with her BF. Thats when I met her.
    Coincidence?

I think she feels guilty for what she is doing and rightfully so.

She doesn't only sound like trouble, she IS trouble.

Of course, people who love drama and emotional torture are attracted to trouble.
