    self-diagnosed complex

so... i've developed this thing where i can never let a boy think that i need him for fear of looking weak or being vulnerable.

this crumbled with this last guy. i told him about this "complex" of mine. i told him that i wasn't afraid to tell him i want/need him.

he keeps trying to end it. and i keep trying to keep it going. i feel like an idiot, a fool, weak.

i opened up and made myself vulnerable. i got hurt. now i cry, and all it does is remind me that i can't control my emotions.

    but i still want him.

    damnit.

Why are you becoming so male like? Your a freaking girl for god sake. You suppose to be the one that shows the emotions. I don't know why you are holding back so much.

This is a bad idea. Next time, save your dignity, and let him go. Then go home and cry into your pillow. Obviously, your clinging did no good, anyway.

Of course, you probably know this now.

    You don't actually need him.

You DID need to admit to someone that you felt like you needed them, though, so in a sense, this is no tragedy.

Now you just have to get rid of him and find someone worthy or your trust.

I just wanted to add that there is no shame in admitting that you care about someone and need them. As easy as it might be to allow one bad experience with this cause you to clam up again--don't! As long as you give the relationship time to be secure and stable and not pop up with "I need you soooo much" the first week or so you'll be fine.

Needing others is normal. It's human nature and nothing to be ashamed of.
There are very few personal problems that cannot be solved with a suitable application of high explosives.
