    Ugly genes

Ugly comes in all colors and shapes. I am not being ignorant by bringing it up, however it's a very sensitive topic IRL and I dare not ever mention it to anyone. Ugly prevents people from being happy, having friends or even having a desired career in many cases. There always are exceptions, but in my own experience I have witnessed people suffer based on their looks only. And then ugly having kids who take after the parents and thus suffer the same their parents do. Since I live in a Jewish community I see many kids who have "jewish" diseases and it makes me think each time, why have kids period if you know ahead of time that the chance of a child being sick is rather large. what would you do if you were ugly?

when i was young and ugly, i have blamed my mother for giving me life and even tried to end it a couple of times. fortunately i was able to recover, but not many can.

Well, many ugly people managed to have very successful careers and contributed alot to society. Science is an example of a field that makes this possible.

some people who are not attractive physically and may be a bit ugly yet carry themselves with huge confidence turn out to be the most wanted and desired people, and shine some radiance. Inner beauty does count.

I agree with that sadie, however it's not that many on a large scale. Many that I know are still single at the age of 40 and it doesn't look like that's going to change anytime soon, or ever.

Confidence only works to enhance the values that is already there. A total loser with confidence is only a fool.

Ugly can be hindering, it alone doesn't prevent you from being happy though.

You must receive interest from men despite what you think of your looks.

I know some pretty hideous women that get approached simply because of their personality. They might not get brad pitt but there's generally someone of the opposite sex that rates the same in the looks department that's gettable.

Are you included in the many?

getting approached, even getting laid, is not quite the same as having a relationship.

    It's this self-defeating attitude that's a huge reason why.

    Very true.

I think when thing's aren't going well it's easy to blame it on our physical shortcomings. I won't say that being ugly doesn't matter, but there are plenty of ugly, fat, bald, and short people that manage to have a decent relationship despite this. So it must be theoretically possible.

it is possible, however the percentage of average looking people leading happier lives is much higher.
