    Bus conversations

    "Sort of like you know"

I think this is probably going to become a theme, so I will dedicate an entire thread to it. I wasn't really in the mood of listening in on another person's conversation on my way home from uni on the bus today. But this couple was seating right next to me and above sentence in conjunction with the loudness of their voice made them hard to ignore.

Her: "So she sort of had the tssituation (it's like "situation" only with a tss in the beginning") sort of like you know?"
    Him: "Oh My God"
    Her: "Like, you know?"
    Him: "Right"
    Her: "Yeah"
    Him: "God"
    Her: "Like, Hello"

    Both laugh

Her: "But she's just sort of like that"
    Him: "God"
Her: "Like, you know what I mean?"
    Him: "God"
    Her: "Yeah"
    Him: "Right"

    Both laugh

Her: "Every time she does it"
    Him: "Oh my God"
    Her: "Every time"
    Him: "Stop it"
    Her: "Every time!"
    Him: "Oh my God"

    Both laugh

Him: "And why did he bring a carpenter to dinner? I mean, why was she a carpenter?"
Her: "I don't know, I mean like I used to be a truck driver. A FOXY truck driver"
Him: "And what about the things he said? My mum shared a house, my dad killed himself. I said, like WHAT????????? That's like the worst thing you can do to yourself!"

    Both laugh

Him: "Out of all the things you can do to yourself, that's THE WORST"

    Both laugh

    Him: "The WORST"

    Both laugh

    Him: "Kill yourself? Hello?"

    Both laugh

Him: "You know what I mean?"
    Her: "Totally"
Him: "I mean, how bad is that?"

    Both laugh

Him: "Why do that? What else did he do I mean?"
Her: "He shared an apartment with British guys in Berlin"

    Both laugh

Her: "When I was inside the houtsse, I thought about it, but then I went, Nah"
    Him: "I know"
Her: "You know what I mean?"

    Both sigh

Her: "I hope my friend didn't ruin it for you"
    Him: "God"
    Her: "I know"
    Him: "Right"
Her: "Like I tssay (it's like a say only with tss in the beginning) to her all the time, why do that?"
    Him: "God"

Then all of a sudden they had to leave and once again I was left without knowing the conclusion of such an inspiring exchange between two (what looked like) 30 somethings.

All I heard as they were leaving was:

Her: "Tsso I tssaid I touched him in bad platsses............ in bad platsses"

Mish-----------Bus conversations are the pits. 9 out of 10 times it's the women. I plug my earphones in to drown out the conversations. I will probably go deaf in the long run but it's preferable to listening to them bitch.

Ussually when I'm on the bus people tend not to talk, but for some reason lately when I travel back home from uni at night they sure seem to come out of the woodworks. I try to ignore them, but then I say why? Here's all the entertainment value I need for the night right there.
