How do you refuse a date without sounding clichéd?

Now that I have broken up with my ex I’ve had a couple of calls for dates the last few days…I guess people thought giving me a month was enough time….i’ve blocked him out of my mind completely now from keeping busy…. I refused the dates but felt really awkward because I don’t want them to hate me if ya know what I mean…..before I went out with my ex I used to just ignore the question and divert the conversation to something else so that they wouldn’t ask again…I realise how horrible it is to get a knock back….i’ve had a few myself….its a panic moment searching for the right words to say and I always come out with cliché’s. Basically the truth is I’m just not attracted to them…not that everything is about looks…..i’m more attracted to funny guys anyway…what do you say? uuuggghhh

Tell them you've decided to become a lesbian. I bet they've never heard that before.

Some guys would try even harder.
