Blowing stuff up is fun. Blowing stuff up to get your point across or defeat an enemy is counter-productive. I will never fight in a war unless it I felt that it was in defense of my home. See my sig.

As one of my favorite quotes goes:
Join the Army, meet interesting people, and kill them.

The army (not to mention the whole military) is great. They are the protectors of our country (although sometimes, they are also the attackers). However, I find that the super-patriots (not all of whom are in the military, but many are going to be or are currently enlisted) tend to become closed-minded. They believe that anyone who is against war or that the reason for a current war is wrong shouldn't be allowed to stay in the country or something. They believe that super-patriotism, in blindly offering everything into the country, is the only right and everything else is wrong. They don't realize that there are other ways to be patriotic without joining the military. It's sort of like religion: They think that only they are right, and are willing to take drastic measures to try to change/run out dissidents. However, let's not start a religious debate... nor a military one, I'm really not in the mood.

All in all, the military is great because without them, there would be no protection for our country. However, there is more to a country than the military, and people are needed to keep the economy and the morale of the country running.
If a dream comes true... then is it still a dream?

I consider myself a patriot even though I disagree with the current administration. I feel that the most patrioticone can do is defend the country you love from its own government.
