    Now what? Help please, ladies!

A couple nights ago, I was drunk at this party. I was texting my best friend Laura all night. I've never really thought much more about her other than how good of a friend she is to me. In my drunk mind, though, I questioned to myself: What if I actually asked her out on a date? Would she think it's awkward? Would she say yes?
After this party, when I got back to my dorm room, I called her. She didn't answer her phone so I left a message, incoherently saying that I know I promised her a late Valentine's Day dinner (we're at different colleges) when the time comes when we're both home. But, what I wanted to do was actually ask her out on a date and call it one, not just dinner. So I basically asked her, "Look, I know I promised you a late Valentine's Day dinner, but I want to actually ask you out on a date... Let me know what you think." I woke up the next morning and kind of freaked a little because I didn't know how she would react. I called her back, she answered, and I said, "I'm sorry I left you that voicemail when I was drunk. But hey, I was actually serious about that voicemail. No pressure or anything, I just think it would be fun to do." She laughed a little and said, "Yeah, that would be fun."
So, that was awesome to hear. But, I've always had a little thing for her and it's growing more as she said yes... I just don't know how to tell her, or if I should tell her. She's my best girl friend and I don't want to make things awkward...
Today, she brought up how she's over her ex-boyfriend now. They dated for a long time and she's still had feelings for him since they broke up. Is that her trying to tell me that she may be potentially interested and for me not to go anywhere? Girls are confusing. I don't know if I should talk to her about this because of the potential awkwardness!

Thanks for reading and the advice!

Maybe this is the exception to the rule: "Never dial drunk" hahahaha.
Your Budweiser courage may well have found you a new girlfriend!!!

Don't go into your feelings yet ... there is plenty of time for that. Of course she's intrested ... and is telling you she's truly single again. She's not being confusing at all.

    Have a fun dinner!

Sounds like it's all going well Dipset. The rest is just usual going through the motions. More dates, kiss, your place and so on.
