moving out of friends-with-benefits zone

Alright, I have a bit of a problem. I have been seeing this man and after alittle while we began to do a "friends-with-benefits" sort of thing. What has happened though is we mutually have began to want more. At the start, lets just call him Derek, said that if I begin to get attached he may just peace out, but he confronted me and basically said he doesnt want to just sleep together and wants it to be more, my problem is how do you move out of that friends with benefits zone? I am also still alittle hesitant to let Derek know that I feel strongly about him even though he said he wants more I guess I am just afraid to scare him away.

You both know you want an actual relationship with each other. You're already sleeping together. So just 'be' together! Simple :-)

His comment that he wants more than just FWB is encouraging. It shows that he has probably changed from his earlier "no strings attached" attitude. Just talk with him about what each of you wants right now. I suspect that the casual sex relationship is no longer working for you. If so, you have nothing to lose.
