    Marriage proposal via text?

Why would someone who is suppose to be serious about marriage propose by text?

How exactly? Like, did he text you and then stand next to you as you opened up your phone to read his text? Or was he away, and just texted you?

In either case, I have no clue, not my idea of how it should be done.. but to each his own.. i'm not going to be the judge about how each guy wants to go about doing these things..

thats cheap. at least be a little more romantic about it. that just shows how lazy some people are getting nowadays. to the OP, did you do this, or were you a victim of a text proposal?

Maybe he was afraid to face you in case you said no, or maybe he just wanted to be different. Maybe he doesn't consider the proposal to be as important as many people do.

Still, this is certainly the least impressive proposal I've heard about, and I'm not even the romantic-sort.

Ask him. I am curious why people do such things.

    Very,

I mean, i've heard of the TV proposal.. this guy saved up money to buy airtime between the season finale of House MD (His gf's favorite show).. and they were watching it together.. and between the break.. his video went on, of him asking her to marry him.. and he got the whole thing on tape, her reaction and everything..

    That's ok-ish.. indirect, but justified..

This is just indirect.. and that's about it..

    i don't like overly-elaborate, pseudo-romantic proposals, either.

If I got a text message proposing marriage, he'd better be standing in the next room waiting to suprise me with a ring and some flowers or something. If that was the whole proposal, I'd be pretty unimpressed.

To me, that means he's either a giant pussy, or it doesn't mean that much to him.

i dunno. this just seems like a what if situation because i dunno anyone that would purposely ask just a large question and not want to see their significant other's reaction in person.

Sounds very familiar, I think I have. Some people like to take it past the limit.

Speaking of an interesting proposal...my Calc teacher in high school had a funny proposal. He was on Oprah because of it. His wife is Holly, so he built a sign that was similar to the Hollywood sign that said "You Marry Me?" Put it under the Hollywood sign took her to Griffith observatory and it said "Hollywood You Marry Me?" I'm trying to find the video on youtube, he showed us it in class once.

Back on subject though, have you talked to him about it? That's well...kinda emotionless.
