Boyfriend doesn't want to tell me about something personal

I am just wandering how to react regarding this. I showed interest and openness to my boyfriend asking him about the people he likes and appreciates (friends, classmates, ...) and he told me some of them. I asked him why he likes them and appreciates them just to have a clearer image of what kind of person and things he likes in people, to get to know him better, and he answered it's personal.
How am I supposed to react to that ? Am I overreacting?? Because I feel rejected and a bit jealous.

It means he's a dude, and has no idea why he likes who he likes.

Stop trying to treat him like a GF who wants to share FEELINGS all day long. Few bigger turn-offs to guys than asking them to articulate emotions.

I also have to be honest and say that it was a stupid question. I'd be really irritated if a partner hit me with questions like this

Is this a real life relationship or an online one, if online only maybe he doesn't trust you enough to share a lot about his friends and life with you.
No, if he won't share, keep it in mind next time he asks you personal questions and follow his lead.
