This is another reason I feel outlawing weapons would be a stupid move. People that shouldn't have them will still get there hands on them one way or the other. It's just like drugs, or alcohol during the prohibition. People that want them, will get them, regardless. .

It might be far more difficult to realize it now, but the circulation of drugs, guns and alcohol that we got nowaday can't be stopped for the simple reason that nothing was done while there was a fair chance to succeed. And it sure as hell won't get any easier, but at least doing something is better than saying "Screw it" and watch it get worse.

Many 17 and 19 year olds still lack impulse control. That is the section of the brain that develops last, as late as the mid 20s. I don't think I'd want to shoot a kid that age (unless they were actually harming one of my kids, anyway). Of course, I am kind of a wimp.

I'm torn. I used to feel this way. Lately, though, I'm getting sick of reading about criminals who go to prison for heinous crimes only to be released a short while later bigger, stronger, and better connected.

I want to know that the dog who harms me or my family doesn't take a vacation at Club Fed. I want to know his worthless carcass is rotting in a ditch somewhere.

And then I think about Katrina and I realize what a sham civilization is. You take away the government, you take away 911, what happens? People revert to the animals that they are. I want to have a gun not only to defend myself, but so I can blow the head off any cop or National Guardsman standing between me and a store full of fresh water and food.
