why do people go Tanning?

I am already tanned so i dont go tanning, but why do many pale people want to tan? like here in Canada Spring/summer is about to arrive and every girl i meet is talking about tanning etc...

Because nobody likes pale legs. I am considering getting mine tanned too. Just to add a little bit of color; not oompa loompa type of tan.

Hmm, just out of curiosity...For girls I find that both pale and tanned can be pulled off well - its even refreshing to see pale-looking girls with a sense of taste now that the vast majority are tanned over here - but how about for guys? Any preferences?

The only problem with fair skin is that so few people know how to choose the right color to wear. Tanning is terrible for your skin, and no one should do it. It promotes cancer and aging skin.

90% of skins aging is caused by the sun. My grandpa is 93 and his skin is as smooth as mine (well, not that smooth, but you get the point). The reason is because when he did work outside, he covered up and put on sunscreen.

My little sister used to tan and I tried pulling out every tactic I could think of to get her to stop. Finally she has cut back quite a bit but still goes outside and lies in the sun on sunny days. UV = BAD for your skin!!!!

Don't understand those young girls that tan themselves until they look like they rolled in a bag of Doritos. They think it makes them look hot, and I think they look retarded. Especially if they're blonde, it's even worse.
