    Feel a little betrayed...am I overreacting?

My girlfriend has been talking about me with her friends.

    That's fine, about most things.

But she has also told them something very personal that I chose to share with just her. I didn't want it gossiped around the town.

I thought it would be obvious that this was a private thing, apparently not.

I'm not sure if it's ok for me to feel angry with her because I didn't actually specifically say "DON'T TELL YOUR FRIENDS" but I didn't think I'd have to.

I just can't help feeling betrayed
I don't really want to talk to her right now.

    Am I just overreacting?
    Should I act like normal?

I did try and spell it out that I wasn't pleased... but in a nice way.

    Meh.

Dude, that sucks. You shouldn't have to spell it out.

You shouldn't, but apparently, you do. Learn the lesson and don't tell her your secrets any more.

Before you say anything, you can start by being straightforward with her from the very beginning, in a calm, non-threatening manner. Start with: "I have something to say to you, but you must promise me that what you hear tonight should not leave this room." [something along those lines]. If the things that are meant to be private gets exposed again by her gossiping habits, then my suggestion is to limit the amount of private information, henceforth. Perhaps, just talk about the weather instead and not go beyond that ... LOL

    Good luck.

Tell her you trust is so hard to gain yet so easy to lose. That'll keep her thinking.

Aww thanks for the helpful replies

I'm still feeling a little sore about it today, even though she's being a sweety.
    *sighs*

Feeling betrayed sucks. Maybe I should just get over it haha.

For now I'm kinda avoiding her but being polite with any contact.

    Thanks guys!

Such is life!........there are people with bigger problems. It happens everyone, I've had worse than that happen as regards secrets being told. Now you know who your dealing with you can be more careful in future around her.
