    Acoustic or Electric?

I'm finally getting a guitar! Sh*t i'm so exited, but idk whether i should get an electric or an acoustic. I definitely like rock more than country, but electric requires amplifier and all those electric crap. Which one do you prefer?

it's all about what you prefer. go to the store and try both.

i personally prefer my acoustic to my electric. my electric guitar is up in my closet somewhere.

I'm more of an electronic type of guy. Synthesizers for the win!

well if this is your first guitar i recommend saving your money and buying a nice $200-$300 acoustic guitar.

don't buy a cheap $20 or you might be disappointed with the quality of the tuners and stuff. i would avoid the 'gig' types of bargain packages, those aren't worth the money unles you are not sure if you want to play guitar or not.

a decent electric guitar will cost nearly $400 and a decent amp will cost around $200.

    I love my acoustic.
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

it's actually the person playing the guitar, not the guitar itself.

lot's of different genres use acoustic guitars, and country in today's world has a lot more electric guitar than acoustic.

google for tablatures, tabs for short if you ever want to learn songs. just pm me if you have a question, i have been playing for 5 years, i've been in bands, i've played at shows, i've been in the high school band and i can't read music.

Another question, which brand do you guys recommend including the exact model name of the brand as well? And a descent guitar's price range is around $200 right?

I have both an electric (Stratocastor) and an electric/acoustic ... they're both made by Fender ...

I think Fender is a fairly inexpensive way to go .. .You can find used guitars for $200 or less ... for acoustics, normally the older the guitar, the better sound it produces ... just don't get the Squier models ...

Unless you're just trying to learn ... in that case, you can use anything ... I remember when I first started playing, I put bronze strings on a classical guitar ...
    no autographs, please!
