That's a pretty cute little car.
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?
With the price of gas fallen it's not really that big of a deal anyways. Chances are it would cost a hell of a lot more than a Ford Focus and the amount of time it would take to gain that money back in gas would take FOREVER. Kind of like the Prius vs a Corolla or Civic.
Plus there are people that have got Prius's with 100mpg.
Diesels aren't that expensive, look at what volkswagen has come out with. Pretty standard pricing.
31 city, 40 highway?
Diesel isn't that much more expensive than gas, and even so, you get so much more out of it.
Also, from what I've heard hybrids are not as efficient on long highway trips (not good for me), and quite frankly, I think they're a joke.
Here, gas was in the $3 range in the summer, and is now in the $1.50 range.
45 MPG on the bike, plus its a hell of a lot more fun

Well, it's true that they're not good for long-range trips, but the latest models have a 160km range under a speed of 100kmph without ever having to switch on the fuel engine, so I think that those who travel further than that to get to work is unlikely, and of course it'll never work out if battery replacement/recharging becomes available.
But yeah, if the only thing that people care about is cost-effectiveness at the present we're toast anyways. I'll get a car once the cleaner technologies become financially viable and effective, no need of a car for a few more years anyhow.
Whocares? gas is like 2 bucks again.
