So this guy, Richardo, used my friend's credit card to buy over $100 worth of pizza over the course of a month. The idiot even signed his name on one of the receipts. That's bad enough but he then broke into my friend's house (we assume) and took a PS3 and several games, all valued at over $600.

Tomorrow my friend and I are heading to his apartment since it seems the police aren't going to do anything about the PS3.

We just chatted with him. No big whoop. Naturally he says he doesn't have it. I think I believe him.

Not because he didn't take it in the first place but because I think he pawned it off for a few bucks. Shit head lives in the slums. We know him through his sister, a Harvard law student. What happened to him I'll never know. He was a nice kid when we were all in elementary school together.

Honestly, though, the guy is so goddamn poor and living in such a godawful part of town, my friend decided to just drop it. Buying a new PS3 isn't that big of a deal for him whereas we can only imagine Richardo has to save up to buy himself an extra value meal at Mickey D's.

Besides, he's screwed on the credit card fraud, so at least something's going to happen to the moron.

Real shame, too. I wanted to put on paint-spattered jeans and a toolbelt and head over to his place while he was out. How much do you want to bet that nobody would look at us twice if we drilled the locks out of his door in broad daylight while dressed as handymen? Hell, even a cop would probably cruise on by if he saw us. Best of all if the punk turned up, well, we're also carrying weapons in plain goddamn view on our hips. Gawd. I wish I could do something like that just once without worrying about the consequences. Just one little excursion beyond the law.
