I was having a discussion with my (single) friend about the whole dating strangers issue.

I am about to date a girl I met last week. He accuses me of being reckless and stupid because some of the people he knows have been in relationships with friends anc have lasted over two years.

Neither of us have been in a relationship and we are both 16.

What are the pro's and con's of dating someone in your classes?

The biggest problem is having to see someone you will probably break up with on a regular basis afterwards, and having all your classmates know your personal business. Also, if she is someone in your social circle, things will get ugly for the whole group if you two break up.

Neither of these are a problem for me.

When are you officially "out" when you are first getting to know them? How do you ask them if you want to be your girlfriend? How long for?

There isn't a right or wrong way to do it, in the end, it just comes down to how compatible you are, and if its someone u know, you may have a slightly better idea of their values/beliefs/intrests etc, but even at that, ppl sometimes find out that what they assumed isn't always the same in a relationship type of setting.

Just go w your gut, either way.

It will happen naturally my friend, it is no precise science, just do what it feels right when it feels right if the girl gives you hints she wants to be in a relation with you
