The Simpsons: Getting better or worse?

There’s been a lot of talk, regarding whether the Simpsons is getting better, worse, or has generally stayed the same, for a long time.
Just wondered what you guys think.

I'd say it has its quality varies and it has its good and bad episodes, but overall the quality has gone down a slope. Also they've done sooooo many episodes that just about everything has been done.

But I guess.. who knows... If the writers can still dredge up hilarious plots from the recesses of their minds and twist the show to surprise the audience with ever more unexpected angles… then maybe it could go another 20 seasons..... I suppose, only time, Fox and ratings will tell...

Its going down the slide man, they have so many episodes that the jokes and storylines are recycled over and over. Its getting old...but still a bit funny. The simpsons movie is aimed to reliven the "simpson" spirits. But screw simpsons, go for family guy.

The simpsons are getting lame. Same jokes all year long. And some of their story lines are just ****. On the other hand, family guy owns. Good jokes, good storylines, swearing, sex.

seasons 1-12 were the best. after that i wasn't really into it.

but those 12 seasons are almost a religious experience for me.

Yeah, some simpsons episodes they have really bad pictures (like when people talk their mouths are wayyy open, and peoples' skin are pale). I like the original graphics, yellow skinned and smoother textures.

It's gotten worse. The stories are far less cohesive. It seems like all they do now is come up with a series of skits and loosely tie them together.

Still, the Simpsons in its prime is/was waaaay better than most any other comedy show (animated or live) ever on the air.

Yeah... sure Family Guy is a good show.....

But only because it steals from the best!!!!

simpsons was great.. now it's just so so. I'm told that the movie was great, though, and this from someone who, if memory serves, said that the simpsons series got worse after around season 10.

Maybe the director will be more creative for once and the simpsons would revive!! Long live the simpsons!
