Quick advice needed from the men, please...

Currently getting to know a guy....known him for a few months but he lives FAR away. His birthday is right around the corner and I want to send him something for it without coming across as too heavy or whatever. What would you like to receive from me for a bday present if you were him?

Get him a card, I think cards r stupid but, in this situation it works cause it shows u made an effort to recognize his birthday

Pretty much anything will make him feel good. To have the most impression on him though, then something personal. Not heavy or anything but maybe some kind of inside joke that you and him had. Maybe mention that joke in the card? It's casual yet personal.

I dropped a tiny bag of candy, the kind that I knew this guy loved in his mailbox for his birthday, with a post-it stuck to it saying "happy birthday dork". It was very appreciated personal, but not too much effort put into it and with a jokeful touch.
