I wouldn't be inclined to go see a movie entitled "Jarhead" (sounds dumb) but generally, yes, I like war movies. I am a sucker for a good cry.

I don't think this nickname does much to enhance their reputation.

    I LOVE war movies!!

Some of my favorites: Saving Private Ryan, Enemy at the Gates (very good movie), The Thin Red Line, Black Hawk Down (kinda a war movie).. I know I'm forgettin some.

Anyone watch "Over There" on FX? I really liked that show, can't wait for next season.

I saw Jarhead, thought it was okay. Nothin too spectacular, but it was still good.

LOL... no it doesn't. I guess awhile back they said the hats the marines wore made them look like "jarheads" and it stuck.. Personally, I could think of a lot better nicknames...

Tone: I'm addicted to "over there" I love that show... it's very intense!

I'm sure this is common knowledge by now, but did you guys know that a lot of WWII vets had to leave the theatre during the opening scene of Omaha beach on D-Day in Saving Private Ryan, cause they said it was just too realistic and took them back to that time...

    War is so ****ing crazy.

It's amazing what it does to the people who survive it.

My grandfather passed away a few years ago, but he was in the army and he was in WWII and I always wanted to, but never got a chance to talk to him about any stories he has. I would always wonder while I was in the basement at their house lookin at all his badges and awards.

Incase you guys missed it, interesting story:
