This is why i've always advocated living a great life on your own and having a blast on your own. That's the best life (and revenge) and it is also what makes you the most attractive you that they start coing around.
Then you can, if you want, play the game back at them and be picky about them. Feels great!

So in the end.. the real answer is, "don't care about what others do, say, think, or treat you..." - just go be kick ass on your own and life will be great... the rest will take care of itself.
