Oh the pain

I decided today was the day. The day I told her how I feel.

This girl from work I chat to heaps we have become good friends then I started getting feelings for her. She is 20yrs older than me but very beautiful. After work I confronted her. I laid my heart on the line and I got hurt. She said things like she is too old for me and I'm vulnerable. She could see how hurt I was. It was good she was honest.

Feels better to have things off my chest but the pain cuts so deep.

I know how you feel. Dont worry man things will get better fast. Don't dwell on it too much. You said your feelings, you can move on. In a few days you will realize that you should have said them sooner and next time you may. For now try hanging out with some friends, you will be surprised how fast you move on.

20 years is a BIG gap, Richter. But, if you ever find yourself in that situation again, don't spill your heart out. It spooks a lot of women, however flattered they may be by it. Merely hint at your feelings just enough to get their curiosity up and let that lead them to lead you to the next level.

I tried hinting my feelings and she wasn't getting it. I had to spill my heart out before I could get the answers I was searching for.

I still want to talk things over with her. I still want to be her friend. I want to be there for her.

Uh...I don't know how old either of you are, but it's generally not REAL easy for a guy to "be there for" a woman who's 20 years his senior. There's probably not a lot she needs you for. And, probably, not a lot you can offer her to make her feel otherwise. I wouldn't dwell on that aspect of my feelings too awfully much, if I were you.

I will be there for her. She is a single mum and her kids are leaving town. She has plenty of friends Im sure, but I still want her to know that Im there.
