What happens, when you try and turn it on? Does it make any noise at all?

Yes, like it tries to fire up and then stops after a couple of seconds.

Mine did the same thing last week. If you look at it while you turn it on, and there is a flame coming on then read on the manual or the back of the casing to it (it will have this flame sensor thing) just take it off and clean it and put it back. If that doesn't work you might have to have your ignitor replaced but it's still pretty cheap to have done by soemone. If you don't have fire, check the listen if you hear the gas line turn on at all.

Flames do come out. Then it stops after a few seconds and tries again like 2 more times and then quits.

I'll see. Thanks for the advice.

Mine did excatly the same! No problem, the guy came out and checked that sensor it's like a silver fuse! Cleaned it and put it back, he said normally that's the cause of that so check that first yourself if you can. If that doesn't work, you will have to replace the actual ignitor...mine had a crack in it that you couldn't see until you took it out. If you find a place that charges low for coming out then you won't have to pay all that much for it. Unless you have someone that knows about that stuff. I swear this exact same thing happened to me last week and it sucked, but don't call them after hours cause it's like $200 extra for them to come out
