So, it happened. She left me after 5 long years. We have been through a lot. A LOT. And suddenly, out of the blue, she wanted freedom. And here we are. Does anyone have any advice how I could or should even understand all of this... anything will help...

If you think after 5 years that this happened all suddenly and out of the blue then you never troubled to really understand her
Then instead of trying to understand how she feels it's very likely you just went from your emotions.

It could be something else, like not seducing her or controlling or whatever. Not having enough male "energy" or whatever
But since you don't give any detail of go with my first assumption

What was her final straw that made her leave, can you see how you played your part in the end result? It must have been something majorly important to her to throw away a five year realtionship.
