Somehow I doubt it. I don't believe LF programmed the forum software themselves. It's not an arbitrary, I want ya'll to suffer kinda thing.

instead of using a PM, why not try sending something larger through an email addy??

The max is 1000 chars for PM. try split up your PM.

Cause it's easier while I'm already on the site to use the PM system, instead of opening another program to send e-mail back and forth. Plus it's not only more convenient, but faster.
It's all good though, just thought I'd try.

they should be able to alter this in the admin control panel without problem
i'd definetly like to type alot more words as well....

You aren't too lazy to type someone a 5,000 word essay, but the thought of having to open up your email and send it that way is much too draining for you?

the purpose of p.m.'s is convience.....upgrading it to 999999 characters or whatever isn't gonna kill the bandwidth or anything here

it'd be much easier for someone to just go in the admin cp, find max characters allowed for p.m.'s > change from 5000 to 9999999 and then save
