I think cougars are way scary. We've got them in the mountains here, though I've never seen one. Hiking is always a thrill.

We have them in our area, too. I live near a mountain range, and we get all kinds of wildlife in our neighborhood. They killed a mountain lion a few blocks from my house (in someone's yard) a few years ago, and we've had black bears in the neighborhood, too. Of course, coyotes are commonplace.

LOL - no guns!! They would scare me more! I used to worry more when my kids were little, but not anymore. Funny thing about the pug, though, is we couldn't let him outside at dusk when he was little because of the owls...

You're right, I wouldn't! After we got married, my husband got rid of the gun he used to carry to crime scenes in the middle of the night. You may do the same one day.
