And its sting is so painful if it suddenly goes wrong
It tears at the heart springing tears that flow free
And “forgive me”, is the shout of its desperate plea
What mistake did I make, I ask this of you?
What move did I choose that decided we’re through?
These questions I ask, with no answers to why
And somehow I get the feeling no answer would be right
Were you looking for an out, some kind of clue to say good-bye?
Will you give me the chance to ask you please, to tell me why?
Or have you found someone else, and if so, please tell me who?

To expose feelings is to risk rejection.
