If she doesn't like you, then it is bad. If you are doing it to make sure others see she is "yours", that is bad.

If you just want to hold hands, and she does, too, that is sweet, but if she tries to let go for whatever reason, don't keep hanging on to her hand.
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

Well, how old are you? It really depends on the girl and how comfortable you feel and SHE feels around you... I see no harm in holding hands if she is the affectionate type and would like that; though there are some girls out there who like to be "on their own" and would NOT like to be "babied" by their man... which I find strange... Anyways, it all depends on the situation. Just never push for anything physical that you both don't feel 100% comfortable with.

    Ah, hand holding.

Such a simple yet intimate gesture.

Is the alternative not touching her at all on the first date? I think you need to make some kind of gesture to express affection, even if only for a few minutes. Hand holding is classic.

If she likes you, then there's nothing wrong with it and I'm sure hand holding would be appreciated. It's not like you're ramming your tongue down her throat within the first few minutes - that would be inappropriate.
    Do what feels comfortable!
To love is to suffer. To avoid suffering, one must not love; but then one suffers from not loving. Therefore, to love is to suffer, not to love is to suffer, to suffer is to suffer. To be happy is to love; to be happy then is to suffer, but suffering makes one unhappy; therefore to be unhappy one must love or love to suffer or suffer from too much happiness. I hope you're getting this down.

    Every woman is different.

In my part, I won't tolerate a man to hold my hand on the first date.

Well, to really know if she wants her hand to be held, try to slide your hand in her own hand and if she didnt moved out, she likes it!!! VOILA!

I played this game with Amy (the girl I'm occupied with).

It all started actually before I developed a thing for her.

She developed this reputation for grabbing people's hands whenever they walked close to her. Her excuse was that it was a "reaction".

So I tried to get that same reaction out of her, I'd walk beside her, or come up from behind and try to slip my hand into hers but it never worked.

When I started fallin' for her, I did it more frequently, we'd just be walking and talking and I'd try to slip my hand into hers, and she'd always pull away, or shove her hands in her pockets, but she never got annoyed with it. It became this game between us. It was one of my ways of testing her.

The same night I kissed and confessed to her everything, was the same night she finally let me hold her hand.

It was, awesome, to say the least.

    Sorry!

I'm not accustomed to being such a sap.

Well, I feel like I've always been a sap.

But I'm not accustomed to acting like one.

I would say its a good thing. Better then throwing yourself at her. Just take her hand and see what she does. If she's not into it, she will let yours go.

Ahh, this reminds me of back in the day.
Appreciate the good times and learn from the bad times....
