When the world was young, and time had just begun
the rivers were flowing, and mountains growing
mankind was new, just starting to live
and in this world, of fresh life
their were two blissful lovers, that would change how man told stories
on a fine crisp night, when evening’s creatures were out
a great man was traveling, and he was weary with walking
a grove of trees did he see, and decided it was a fine spot
this great mortal, was not a normal man,
he was a great king, and warrior of men
few could stand, through his onslaught in battle
for he was a great fighter, the best of them all
tall and broad, with long silver hair
none could gaze, through his gray piercing eyes
he was king Panteleon Orsdevil of Bresonnia,
a mighty land to the east, known for it’s bravery
but restless was he, never staying too long
so it was upon this grove, that his fate would change
after settling down for the night, he drifted into dream
of a beautiful maiden, dancing for him
but he later woke with a fright, at a strange sound indeed
and then he saw her, the most beautiful creature
she was a stunning woman, her curves were delicate
her voice was pure music, her dance was exotic
with long hair, that kept changing color
always moving, always beautiful
she moved like a deer, graceful and rare
she wore the stars as a necklace, and the moon a ring
her skin seemed to glow, with warmth of it’s own
she danced to music, to a orchestra playing
yet try as he might, he could not spot them
you see, she was a goddess
her name was Arsitryan, so mortals called her
and no mortal man, could stand to love her
a mere glimpse they say, would steal their heart
and sleep they would, their lives away
for glimpse of her, in their dreams they would
sooner or later, death would claim them
suicide love, insanity driven
it was hours later, that she finally noticed
the strange man in back, who couldn’t utter a word
her look alone, made him fall to his knees
nothing before, could have done this so
he summoned the courage, to stand up full
he bowed low and graceful, for her he would
“may I kiss your hand?”, he whispered so
smiling she was, with her hand extended
she was earths own daughter, and something to behold
he introduced himself, king and all
unimpressed she was, a goddess doesn’t care
it was a curse from birth, not to love you see
she could only wonder, if he be it
the one to break the spell, and love her well
it was then they talked, throughout the night
about things so small, like leaves or mites
near the fireside, did they snuggle by
warm and full, after a gracious meal
they fell for each other, like no other before
from their that morning, the set out together
hand in hand, heart in heart
they married that day, by a old oak tree
needing to settle, they chose a place near woods
living in a cabin, back away in the woods
they lived together, for better a year
had only each other, nothing else was needed
and lived happy and gay, together they were
but as you know, one is a god
and this goddess had brothers, annoying and rude
it was these who were jealous, these twin brothers of hers
and one day, they approached the king
he was out for wood, a long day it was
for fire was needed, to stay warm that night
dressed as beggars they were, all ragged and dirty
with a offer for him, that he could not ignore
“she is immortal, and you are man” they said
“what is decades for you, is mere years for her”
“we can help you, with this problem sir”
“you cannot love her forever, for you are human”
“but with this little flask, you can live longer for her”
“and be with her more, at the age you are at”
“all we need from you, is your life and soul”
“we will come back one day, for our promise and you”
to this he agreed, without logic or thought
here was a solution, to his once great problem
within weeks of the deal, he forgot it at all
continued they did, their love affair
happy they were, for a decade and more
in their small little cabin, did they love each other well
one could only guess, that it was a match from heaven
they danced for years, to music they heard
their wasn’t a day gone by, that laughter ensued
but as of all good things, must come to a end
those brothers grew jealous, it was their way
this wasn’t the life, their sister should have
she was the daughter of earth, and mother of life
she was not suppose to love, that just was the way
of her love they wanted, for themselves you see
so they devised a plan, to spirit her away
they put a spell on her, that made her forget
while her husband was gone, she slipped away
not knowing why, she was there that day
her husband however, was still unaware
and on his return, with love on his mind
he could not find her, crushed was his spirit
but he knew that she wouldn’t leave him, evil magic was this
so he set out to find her, nothing would stop him
fact was this, evil cannot hide
