Grr. I like my best friend...

Well, i have a problem right here. I like a girl that's also a good friend of mine. I know she doesn't like me back; I dropped a comment along the lines of "Haha, who would like someone like me?", to which she answered "Well, i'm sure there's someone, well i don't but still."


I'm not looking for advice like get over it, etc. I'm just wondering what my options are. We're pretty close friends it seems, and i'm not 100% certain if she does or does not like me, but that comment makes it pretty obvious she doesn't. How the hell am i supposed to deal with it? Getting over it is no option at the moment. I'd really want to start something with her but meh..


Finally, how am i supposed to fish out what she thinks of me, and, is there hope of things like that growing? Just wondering what my options are, thanks..

Human has mouth and it is for us to ask. Even if u get rejected, at least u get a clear answer and move on. You guys can still be good friends.

Honestly, how good a friend is she? I would never talk like that to a friend unless I was joking, and it would be clear I was joking. If she meant it, I don't think she is your friend.

In any case, if you want to get over her, hang out with other people.

Well, i was joking, duh. But with "Like", i meant in "That" way lol.

I assume she just said she didn't like me as a boyfriend. It's obvious she likes me like a friend.

As I said before, I would not talk to a friend that way. I would have been more encouraging...

I guess the whole message doesn't transfer through text very well. She was more like, "Aww, i'm sure there's someone for you out there..". Note that we're both pretty "Weird" and "Alternative", so we are both pretty picky who our friends are and all, and they're not many people like that around here anyway.

She did mean it in a good way, that's not the question.
