Why single?

Do you know why some men choose to be single? I met this guy who is over 40 and told me that he prefers a single life.

Is it a way for guys to refuse a girl?

He does seem to be very alone. If what he said is true, then what kind of person might he be? What kind of life experiences may lead to a man chooose a single and simple way of life?

Well, let's face it: lots of women can be a giant pain in the ass. If he didn't want children, there was no real reason to get married, was there? It's not like he can't get sex without a wedding ring anymore.

Why the sad face after he prefers to be single? I think it is weird that this society has been thought that living alone is weird enough that it has to be questioned.

Seriously, I'm a pretty easy going guy. I like women plenty. I just don't like all the obligations and responsibilities that come with relationships. Plus I feel as though I'm wasting people's time. At this time I have absolutely no desire to get married or have children. From my experience most girls do. If I do enter in a great relationship with a girl we're just going to reach a point where I'm not willing to go any further and she feels trapped. So why bother?

You aren't 40 yet, and I don't believe you will make it to that age without getting emotionally caught up with some girl (whether or not you marry her). Also, unlike many life-long bachelors, I am not under the impression that you hate women or are unable to communicate with them.

I understand that but some shows show some truth, this show had a good point to make about a married life and it was true.
