I don't think you can plan it, it just sort of happens. I just hate the feeling of what if the person rejects me. (not that I have ever been rejected hehe.)

What would be a general response if, sometime during a date, you leaned over and told the girl that you really liked her, and asked if you could kiss her? Do people generally not ask first?

Hmmmm. I think looking into her eyes, one hand on her shoulder and the other gently touching the side of her face, fingertips just brushing her ear and saying, in a very sincere and direct way, "I really want to kiss you.", and then actually doing it (this is the important part, Lilwing), would be a perfect first kiss.

Women are much more auditorily stimulated than men, which tend to me more visual. I think asking, if it's done in such a way that it doesn't actually emmasculate you, might be very helpful. You want her to know you plan on kissing her, not that you're hoping for a treat like a little puppy.
