Well, way back in '94, I couldn't think of a screen name for a local BBS (remember those?) that my friend was posting/chatting on, so I just used the name of a rapper that I was listening to at the time... Too $hort ... it used to have a $, but then when e-mail and such became popular, I couldn't use special characters like the dollar sign, so I dropped it and just used Too Short ... then it was taken when I signed up for aol, so I added the X in the middle ... hence tooxshort ...

so, after all this time, the name has stuck with me ...
