All that's really expected of women is to work a part-time job to supplement the man's income, raise children, and keep the house clean. I'd say they got the better end of the bargain.

I left my husband alone with the kids for a week one time. He thinks it is a helluva lot easier to go to work, and he doesn't make me supplement his income. He takes pride in providing for his family and would be embarrassed if I *had* to work.

This reminds me - my brother's wife is Japanese, raised in Japan. I assumed he married her because of power imbalance you guys seem to enjoy. However, he told me after they'd been married about 5 years that Japanese women are the masters of passive-aggressiveness and manipulation. His wife ALWAYS gets her way. Women will ALWAYS find a way to wield their power.
