    Gross.

Yes, I have experience with guns.

Eeew. That reminds me of this guy in town who has this big lumpy hole in his head from where he tried to blow his brains out with a rifle. Now he walks with a cane and tells people all about how Jesus saved him. His daughter used to go to preschool with my daughter. I told my kid to stay the hell away from that weirdo. He is just super creepy.

Also, I'd like to add, on topic, that I think prostitution should be legal and regulated.

    Point Counterpoint by Streetlight Manifesto

I've got a gun in my hand but that gun won't cock
My finger's on the trigger but that trigger seems locked
and I can't stop staring at the tick tock clock
and even if I could I would never give up.
With a vest on my chest, a bullet in my lung
I can't believe I'm dying with my song unsung.
And if and when I die won't you bury me alone?
'Cause I'll never get to heaven if I'm singing this song.

If there was something wrong would you be oh so strong?
Would you do what it takes to move this hollow life along?
I'd like to think I would, you know I'd like to think I would
but I can guarantee that what you see is not reality
and every time she makes a point, I make a counterpoint
She said it's easy but in the end you'll have no choice
and you know that's only just the way it goes
You said it right man, That is just the way it goes

I'd post the song via youtube, but I don't know how to post the videos directly to the post.

I don't know why people write songs about suicide, it doesn't seem worth it. If you write a song about suicide, you probably aren't going to, so why write about it, it's not worth the thought

Exploring the idea and actually doing it are very different things. It is worth the thought if you've known others who have offed themselves (I've known quite a few) and you're trying to make sense of it.

True, I just don't think suicide is that worthy of exploration unless you are considering it for yourself. I came close when I was a freshman in high school, but never talked about it or mentioned it until now, 4 years later. Some of it because I would have to hear other peoples bullshit when they try to convince you that you are worth something. And people would only care about you (or pretend to) at your death, but while you are alive don't give a shit about you. So they don't really care. But that was me then. I decided not to kill myself because I hate other people too much to let them win like that. Sick and tired of the bullshit, of other people having the fun. So I desire to become rich, outdo them, and just in general bring hell to people who prevent me from realizing that

This guy doesn't sing about suicide.

    Just the opposite really.

In one of his songs he's trying to persuade his girlfriend or somethin' not to commit suicide.

Also here's a song where he pretty much condemns suicide.

    Here's to Life:

How did Camus really die that night?
    Were they right?
When he died was it really his time?
    Or was it suicide?
And Holden Caufield is a friend of mine
We go drinking from time to time
and I find, it gets harder every time

    Back Off!
You're out on the street again
    Don't you stop!
Did you know you couldn't swim?
    Back Off!
You're out on the street again
I'm not going to play if there ain't no way I'll win!

Hemingway never seemed to mind the banality of a normal life
and I find, it gets harder every time
So he aimed the shotgun into the blue
Placed his face in between the two
    and sighed, "Here's To Life!"

    ------------------

And I don't know much, but I do know this
With a golden heart, comes a rebel fist
But I can't help agreeing with those that would not quit.

And it makes me sick when I think of it
All my heroes could not live with this
and I hope you rest in peace
Because with us, You never did!
And K.D.C., you were much too young!
    And you changed my life!
But I draw the line at suicide!
    Here's To Life!!

I think most people have a moment in their life when they fully realize that they could commit suicide. Some people cringe away from that fact, won't even look at it. Others fall in love with it and go shopping at Hot Topic.

I think most people think it through. Quite a few actually follow through. More don't. People write about it, make films about it, write songs about it. I don't see why it's a waste of time. Maybe it helps others sort it out.
