Is there such a thing as Quiksilver Legends?

Alright, so the girl I now like claims to be a surfer. I'm not a major surfer (I would L-O-V-E to be). She says she was sponsered at the Quiksilver Legends tournament. Funny thing is... it sounds like a load of Bullshit to me. I don't think there even is a Quiksilver Legends tournament. I can't find anything about it on the web.

Does anyone know if such a tournament exists?

She mentioned she went to Australia for the tour... she, if she was competing, would be considered a 'Youth'. She's actually originally from Miami.

I really DO want to believe her, but it really seems like the evidence is stacked up against her.

I surf and I follow the men's pro tour. I've never heard of the "Quicksilver Legends" tournament. It sounds like an unlikely over the top name for a womens u18 event. Also I've never heard of a surfer being sponsored for one event. Sponsorships are almost always ongoing.

Can't you go surfing with her? That'd be the best way to uncover the truth.

Also ask her what tour she's on. For men there's the WCT, with 44 of the world's top. Surfers qualify for the WCT by competing the World Qualifying Series (WQS). I'm pretty sure the women have an identifcal system.

I am no surfer by any means, but you may want to go to a surf shop or if you are near a beach that has people surfing ask them about it. You may also want to ask this chick what other tournaments she has been to or watches.

Ya, I'm starting to feel that I should really just sorta get out of this one.

And I do believe she said it was an ongoing sponsorship, that was just the event she mentioned. I would love to be able to go to a Surf Shop and ask around or go surfing with her, but that would require an expensive planeflight or a 12 hour drive!

Actually, the first thing that crossed my mind was to go to a surfing forum, but I've registered at like 5... and I still haven't gotten the email to confirm my account. Not to mention none of them are using PhpBB, VBulliten, or any other slightly popular message board OS.

here in hawaii quicksilver is the name of a brand a clothing line that also sells surfing gear. however, if they are likely to hold a surfing tournament, i'm unsure of it. it wouldn't be surprizing if they held one, but i've never heard of it before. then again, i'm not a huge surfing fan.

Ya... Quiksilver holds tons of surfing events. They make all types of boarding gear. Supposedly this 'Legends' thing is a tour.

being that they hold all sorts of tours, i wouldn't be surprised if they did have a legends sessions every so often.
