Daydreams

Clouds drift across the azure sky
Vanilla cushions for cherubic beings?
Or flights of fantasy for lovers?
Day dreaming in the noon sun.
Of unicorns frolicking in shadowed glades,
Sunbeams glinting off those fabled horns,
A thrusting sword penetrating the shade,
Revealing the frolics of Pan and shy nymphs
Hidden from curious gaze.

Or could those billows be sails?
Unfurled against the balmy winds
Of exotic climes. Where lovers drift
Amid the perfume of the Lotus,
While hushed maidens prepare
A banquet beyond compare for their
Delight, each morsel more potent than the last.
Unhurried, unfettered by care for a brief while,
As the clouds drift by on a summer's day.
