The Fakest Word In Our Modern Language..."I love You"

    This is why.

I'm madly in love and I'll only say "I love you" to this certain girl"

Here in america, When a couple goes out, I always hear them saying I love you and then I end up finding out most end their relationships after a couple of months.

Then they begin another relationship and repeat the process of saying I Love You.

I am disgusted by this because we have turned the phrase into a mockey. It's lost all of it's value.

I agree. The over-use of the phrase has diminished it's real meaning and lost it's effect.

Giga if you were here right now I would give you a big, warm hug. Like you know how you feel when you have a warm fuzzy sweater that makes you feel good? I want to give you a hug like that

I won't say it until I mean it. I knew my current GF for oer a year before I said it.

errrr.. shouldn't this thread be "the fakest thread in our modern language..." and secondly fakest isn't even a word.

but on the real, most couples do break up after a few months.. and the answer to that is because they are young. judging by your age group, you still have a lot to learn.

People do use " I love you" often and dont realize what they're saying(some say it too soon /or think they are in "love). Everyone has a different definition of "love". I personally like to ask "whats your definition of love"? lol. You seem to be annoyed by people using "i love you" which is understandable. I feel the same, along with marriage. (people do make a mockery out of that as well) Hope all is well.

There's that phrase... loving someone so much it hurts. I think "love" is to care about someone so much that you never hurt, because it shouldn't. But maybe I'm a bit too much of a romantic?

^ Assumes that the people involved know each other very well before even coming to it, though.
