how come i still like love songs?

the other night, i was talking about some of my favorite songs with a friend, and she was like "but those are love songs?" as if i shouldn't enjoy them because i just broke up, or because i don't have someone to love.

so i've been thinking about it, can't get the question out of my mind. i've always had a thing for slow, serenade-like, lovey-dovey songs. even though i don't have a girlfriend or anyone special on my mind. why is that?

Because you're a mushy sap. You just haven't met the right girl yet, but you'll be ready. Oh, yes.

i'm not sad or pathetic. i don't understand why you think that. i'm generally in a happy carefree attitude, and i don't let people push me around. but i do long for someone to love.

That's the truth from the horse's mouth, right there.

Mushy sap = romantic sweetie, not pathetic emo moper, but hey, take offense if you must.

i guess it depends on where you're from. here, it's an insult, and means that you are easily tricked, pessimistic, and whatnot. i'm sure glad you didn't mean it that way!

Who knows. I don't like love songs specifically (maybe cause I'm an electronic freak), but there are some good ones. You don't need a single person to exert your love on to feel those.... feelings... So everyone can listen to such songs.

I really like Rare Earth's Get Ready... I really feel the song
