    Questions

Two people don't have the same language for their first language, but they are able to communicate to each other. Do you guys think they are able to date? For example, a guy from Hong Kong and a girl from U.S (Asian American).

Definitely. As long as both can get across what they mean, a relationship is entirely possible. It's just up to the normal factors--compatibility, etc.

of course it is possible, just as long as they are able to communicate with each other and are compatible .. that's all it matters.

Although it's posible, communication and culture differences can pose problems. It's posible that there will be communication problems (miscommunication and misunderstanding) and differences in beliefs and cultural expectations. If there is a good chemistry and both partners are sensible and understanding of one another then it can definetly work out. If not, then it can be a mine field.

I haven't tried, but I know a lot of people who have. I have one friend in Mexico who can't speak English nearly as well as he can write it, but is doing perfectly well with his long-distance girlfriend in Georgia. My Japanese professor is from India, married an American. Lots of people get over language and cultural barriers--it's just a matter of giving it a shot. =)

Well this is kinda different, but if it helps...

My boyfriend was born in the US

    I was born in Cuba

And we're happily dating =) We both know English & Spanish, we always talk in English (he hates Spanish)

I remember our first date, I was so nervous, I was so scared my words wouldn't come out, or the way I wanted them to...But it was all good at the end!

I was scared since he's English was so good and I was just starting to speak English!

    Believe me, it's POSSIBLE!
