Lol, all I remember is 'puede usted decirme donde esta el bano?' & 'dos cervesa, por favor'.

But I would say it w/a decent french accent & get compliments on my spanish. They would start yammering away to me & I'd get all embarrased and confused. A la Mr Bean.

Why "Papel amigo"? Why is he sorry?

Papel, amigo, perdonadme la afrenta (Paper, friend, excuse my offense) was a poem I wrote while I was having a very hard time at my parish (yeah, I'm Catholic, sue me). By then, I was responsible for around 200 teens and youngsters (called Pastoral Juvenil in Spanish, word for word, Youth Pastoring, although I don't know if this is the correct translation in English); but, even though I tried hard to take these people where I was supposed to (to a deeper learning of God, among others), I smashed myself into the wall of their indifference every once and again.

By then I was also awakening on the fact I am a leader and that made me feel very lonely. Yo ya estoy en la lucha, y el dolor me desola (I am already fighting, but pain devastates me) and the whole poem is an expression of that.
