That says nothing about the quality of that data tho. I know of no data that hasn't been debunked (or at least labelled 'not proven') that says that the earth is a mere 10000 years old...
Indi, I will have to dig up some of my old research on young earth/old earth and post it. When I did it, both sides seemed to have credible data to support their theory. I'm not a scientist by any means, but perhaps you could detect some fallacies in the data.

It is my logic with probability. I don't think people realize how unlikely it is that god exists...
Nor the probability that life began from chance, was able to replicate, has survived, adapted and evolved to our current Earth.

    I will admit, though.

I love to play against the odds.

It would take a long time to explain, tho & I don't have it. However, here's a link to a scientist who has already done it, and a good job too:

There's a difference b/t the arguments for/against abiogenesis & evolution. You've got two seperate theories in there, not one. The evidence for evolution is pretty darn convincing.

Its an entire lecture, so you'll need about 1.5 hours. But equally as good as any M.Moore flick. Interesting from start to finish (I thought).

I hope that wasn't meant as an enticement.

LOL, good point. Poor Ken Miller would be insulted; he's much funnier than MM. Anyway, Fras is right: I forgot the lecture part is only about an hour, the rest is a Q & A. Its been a while since I've seen it.

The Soviet Union was the first state to have as an ideological objective the elimination of religion. Criticism of atheism was strictly forbidden and sometimes lead to imprisonment.
Eight metropolitans, twenty archbishops, and forty-seven bishops of the Orthodox Church died there, along with tens of thousands of the laity. Of these, 95,000 were put to death, executed by firing squad. It is estimated that 50,000 clergy were executed by the end of the Kruschev era.

I would say I'm a #2 on your scale. But I'm not Religious. I believe in God as an absolute good towards which one should move towards.

Ah. THIS example. Right. Um, this wasn't done by a group of atheists, this was done under the guise of 'communism' & they attacked the church b/c of its 'unfair distribution of wealth'.

Its like saying that a tall person who commits murder does so in the name of 'tallness', lol.

As to your scale ranking, the author meant the very specific definition of a Personal God, not other concepts like God as the Universe & other similar ones that ppl like Einstein mentioned.

Well, if we can ever get a valid sample, we could test this by doing a sequence analysis & look for markers that are common to those of Jewish descent.

(and yes Mish, I also saw the smiley on your other post, but there are those who would read your example & believe 'atheists' killed all those church officials)
