Its a numbers thing, LW. Being this way reduces violent interactions in general, but sometimes ppl get nuts, bad situations happen & all you can do is fight. In that case, my last would apply.

    I suggest this:

SpyderCo Civilian is the same knfe that Hannibal Lecter used in the movie. It sort of hooks into the skin and makes the deepest cut when you pull the knife away.
    Don't expect anything.

Haha you're completely right! If you ever even present a gun you just opened up a whole new can of worms and yes, you WILL have tons more shit to deal with

    Not necessarily

Lol well I've owned guns since I was in middle school, and currently have multiple 40 round magazines and around 2,000 rounds of ammo locked up in my room at my house, at least I represent the demographic I'm speaking for

I've said that same exact thing before in other threads because it's so true. You bring out a gun and you're really starting a lot of shit. Especially because chances are if you ever *feel* you need to do so, it is probably because you are dealing with a less than reputable character, as Peter Griffin would say. And their friends and whoever, as well as themself, will want to "get back" at you. Which makes a vicious cycle. That's why you have to defuse these problems or avoid them. It is seriously an artform.

Because whoever "starts" shit is NEVER worth the trouble for the recipient of said shit

But having decent firepower just gives me a little peace of mind

Its an *old* saying, hence the quotes.

And DM, you have a gift for verbal defusing, FWIW. Humour works.

    Not often at all.

I'm moderately street smart. I know the places to avoid, I know how to act when I'm already in the bad areas. That situation was created by my girlfriend who doesn't have a problem locking eyes with strangers, and a guy who obviously had enough problem to flip her off and insult her (while I was in the bathroom).

I've definitely talked to her about starin' at people like that before. She's been so shameless when she does it, literally tellin' me to look at a person(s) when they have a clear view of us in a restaurant. In fact that very night I was tellin' her that she shouldn't do that stuff. It's frustrating for her bein' used to a small town setting where it's impolite not to greet somebody when you walk by them on the street, but she's lived in cities before, I don't know how she hasn't picked up on this stuff yet.

It's frustrating for me because I don't like gettin' caught in a situation like that.

I'm not a fan of getting my ass handed to me under any circumstances. Yes, most circumstances can be diffused, but some can't, and in those cases, it pays to know how to fight. Knowing how to fight in no way means you're obliged to actually do it.

    Tsk, you two.

DM is still working on the positioning of my atoms, BD. Are you offering to help perfect our chemistry?
