Would this be a romantic gesture? Or a bit lame?

Okay well there is this girl who I am currently crazy about and I am closer with her than any other girl I have known....

We chat when we meet in school, we tease each other, we've said we feel comfortable together and we chat for hours on the phone and the internet...

Now, I haven't asked her out yet so don't go on about that yet, but i'm an old romantic and I plan these romantic things weeks or months ahead....

I met her two years ago in a French class and we got each other through it though I was the worst in the class and failed my GCSE in it.

Would it be a good romantic gesture if I in memory of how we met, told her a romantic speech about her in French and I work so my pronunciation, words and everything else is perfect?

Is the gesture romantic or corny???

Well, personally, I think that's a little too involved for someone you're not even dating yet.

I don't know what you mean about a speech, but I think asking her out in French would be sweet.

    Did she pass French?

Seriously though, it sounds cute and romantic. But keep it short and sweet. No girl wants to wait around for a speech

Say charming one liners. A speech could make you creepy.

As a female I think that it is sweet but keep it short like everyone said.

ye ask her in french, then on the date you can reminice about your failure, then she'll relise that you put a lot of effort in to asking her out

    speech: lame
asking her out in French: could work. If she understands you. If she doesn't, translating it could lose the effect, much like explaining a joke.

Just ask her out in English. **** it.
    "Why are you an atheist?"
"because I paid attention in science class."
