Is it 'okay' to seek a sex partner if spouse is forever severely disabled/incapable

Do you feel something is wrong with doing it? Why or Why not? Would you do it if you are young and have many years of vibrate life left and your spouse told you it was okay? Do you feel it is cheating if your spouse told you it was okay? What if they became severely mentally disabled is it cheating if the spouse is incapable of communicating even if you 'spoke' to him/her about it?

Do you feel obligated to stay married to this person? How do you feel about married people of severely disabled spouse wanting a sex companion? Do you feel they should not do it even if they are young (<50 years old)? Do you feel they should do it?

As long as the person isn't dead, there should be some kind of hole capable of making sex to

Yeah, it's wrong. It's low down and dirty, too. When you marry it's supposed to be for better or for worse. I don't much care about that nonsense and if we didn't have children I'd leave my wife at the drop of a hat. But not if something happened to her like that. Who's going to take care of her? Who's going to help ease her suffering and make life almost livable? I could never get over the guilt of abandoning a woman like that.

In this case, no they are incapable of having sex at all and give you permission to seek it elsewhere, or is not able to give consent. It's really a tragic situation to be in.

No, Gribble, in this case they feel exactly as you stated. They would never leave and will forever take care of them. The issue is that they are very young and no longer have a sex companion. They are going to forever stay and take care of the spouse until death. Is it okay to seek a companion for sexually intimacy if you are told it was alright or if they are incapable of communicating?

I think I would. I've got one life to live, and I'll be damned if I let an addressable issue, some tragic twist of fate, keep me from experiencing arguably one of the best feelings that I know...although I think there'd be a temptation to ditch the incapacitated person, leave them to the state's care or something like that, so I think relations like that might be flirting with abandoning the one you'd apparently swore an oath to provide & care for. Maybe move to some nation with fantastic health care/long-term aid and then abandon him/her? lol

...I'm really not cut out for commitment...

Of course it's not right. When you marry someone, you are promising to them that you would never do such thing... in sickness and in health.

I wouldn't myself, but I wouldn't hold it against someone. It's a pretty personal choice.

Sex is overrated. There are quite a lot of people who are mentally so clear that they actually don't need sex or are just strong and smart enough to look past it.

Is sex like heroin? From this thread, it seems like it is if you are willing to give up your spouse.

But then again, these are just words of mine and nothing else. No practice.

No, even if it's just a less than serious relationship it's not ok.
