I'm getting health insurance!

It's with Blue Cross Blue Shield. It's not Point of Service, where you play a flat rate no matter what, but rather, it's a discounted service so I pay a percentage.

I have an annual deductible of 3,300 dollars. Should I ever reach that amount for any reason, Blue Cross will cover 100% of the expenses thereafter until the end of the year.

It's gonna cost me just under 90 dollars a month.

However, my company will pay for half of that on a monthly basis, so it's only gonna cost me about 45 dollars a month.

Unfortunately I will no longer be able to save like I used to, until I get a raise.

But here's to improving quality of life!

I'm with Vash. You do physical labour, so its good to be covered.

We have BCBS also, btw. Even in Canada, we still have extended health, its a good idea when you have kids. The are pretty decent, tho the %age thing is a bit of a pain. You have to make sure you submit your receipts annually b/c there is a time limit to your claims.

Oh, in the US we had Harvard-Pilgrim. Some HMO. It was pretty good, I thought. Was around 4-5K/year for our family. It covered the 10s of thousands my son's birth supposedly cost. One of the most expensive hotels I ever stayed at and the service was merely okay.
