Just asking out of curiosity as my friends and I were discussing this today. When you're dating someone new, how long do you wait before you have sex? An hour, a week, a month, wait until marriage? Or do you have sex before you even start dating?

I think three dates is the rule of thumb, however long that takes.
I don't really go into it with a set time period in mind. Whenever it feels right, that's when I have sex. And it usually feels right for me the moment I lay eyes on her. Usually it takes a bit more convincing before she gets into the mood, however.God, so atrocious in the Old Testament, so attractive in the New--the Jekyl and Hyde of sacred romance.

My only rule is not on the first date. After that, it's however things are going with that person. I've dated people for over a month and not slept with them. Some were the lucky second-daters. My first bf had to wait....a year.

Read a book that recommended girls hold out for at least six weeks because it means that the first time you do will be mind blowing as a result of the tension build up. I've never managed to wait that long though.

i have no rules, anytime i feel like it. i do make them take the std testing though.
