You know to freeze your spices, right? The very oily ones like cumin and GM will quickly go rancid at RT or even the fridge.

I know about the quantities. It must reflect the fact they are cooking for 20 people a meal, lol, those huge indian families.

Aliquot them into smaller bags and put them in your -20.

Dude. Were you sitting next to me at that wedding in Oakland last Saturday? We were just talking about that.

My new favorite is navaratan korma, since it turned out really well the last time I made it. The old favorite was saagwalla.

I know, I kind of want to try it, but I'm afraid it will shave a year off my life total.

Haha, no. Last wedding I went to was in LA 5 weeks ago. But that's funny, must be a bay area thing

My husband is a bacon fiend. He's the worst Jew ever.

One of my daughter's favorites is lamb stew, which is so easy it's ridiculous. Seared lamb chunks, rough-cut winter vegetables (potatoes, rutabagas, that kind of thing), peas or green beans and barley thrown in the crock pot with red wine, vegetable broth and thyme sprigs. Comes out delicious and it's done by the time we get home after work/school/soccer/etc.

Lamb is delicious. And I totally sympathize with your husband, I'm a health nut and I'm religious about my diet (you can literally ask me my total calories / cal from fat / carbs / grams protein consumed at any point of the day and I'll know it), but if I can have a side order of bacon...

I don't know if you like Japanese, but I found this all-you-can-eat Japanese place on University last week called Edoku (I think), it's incredible.

Never been there. We don't get to the Bay too much these days and when we do we're usually pigging out at House of Nan King or Le Cheval. We'll have to give Edoku a shot next time. Love Japanese.
