I want to be honest, but I know the truth would cut her to pieces and potentially end things in a very, very dramatic fashion.
I've never considered myself a liar, I pride myself on my honesty, but at the end of the day I have to assess my options and values here because it's not only our relationship on the line, it's potentially my career.....a career I plan on keeping for 20+ more years.
The more I consider the hole I've dug for myself the more depressed I get about the situation.
