i can't help but hope the auto industry goes down. for all the lives they've taken, all the souls they've exploited, making roads for them encroaching on tremendous life, stealing the earths precious oil, tens of thousands of human lives every year, selling vehicles they know are going to blow up and dysfunction with people in them, more willing to pay out lawsuits than fix them...

i can't help but want them to crash and burn like so many of their customers.

You have a wrong opinion on auto manufacturers. Not every car ever made was a Ford Pinto

I get 28-32 MPG on a mix of city and highway driving.

that's the thing. demand is low. everybody is broke and homeless and can't afford a ford f150 or an explorer. maybe they could buy it but couldn't afford the insurance, maintenance and repairs, and gas to run the thing.
